The First Step in Helping the Hearing Impaired

The Audiology Lab is the training ground for students intent on helping the deaf and hearing impaired. Here audiology students learn not only how to perform cochlear tests, but also the mechanics of speech, speech science, and how to perform an audiologic assessment. Key to their success is working closely with subjects and faculty, gaining hands-on experience that prepares them well to become leaders in the field.

The study of audiology at the University of Pittsburgh exceeds current national standards, and puts students in an ideal position to meet the future, more stringent standards expected in 2012. We offer a  professional doctorate in audiology , the degree that will be the standard for entering the field in the coming years.
