Courses

Post Masters Core Study Areas

Advanced clinical courses in anatomy, physiology, cognitive science, neuroscience, acoustic and physiological phonetics

Leadership, ethics and clinical teaching 

Clinical mentored doctoral externships (up to 2,000 hours)

Medical and related health service rotations

Library and Information Technology Skills

Research methods, statistics and critical scientific appraisal

Scientific oral and written presentation

Seminar and/or Independent study areas to suit the individual student

Courses involve didactic teaching, seminars and problem based approaches. Expertise in the CSD department includes internationally recognized clinicians/researchers in language, cognition, swallowing, fluency and motor speech disorders.

Post Masters Individual Track Areas

Most core study areas have several specific courses that may be chosen by you to fit with your experience and clinical focus. You may also request consideration of a course not currently listed on the program if it can be shown to have outcomes equivalent to the designated core study areas.

Other requirements include the successful completion of written and oral comprehensive examinations, submission of work to outside bodies, clinical mentoring of Masters level Speech-Language Pathologists, participation in research and clinical forums.
