Here at the University of Pittsburgh, we put our students to work in the research labs designing, testing, and—most important of all—improving critical technology that enables people with disabilities to go about their daily lives. Those pursuing a career in rehabilitation counseling, meanwhile, learn through both classroom theory and hands-on job experience, while enjoying a fast route to a career in human services.
Our students work alongside designers, engineers, and clinical professionals—the same people with whom they’ll interact once they enter the workforce. Upon graduation, our students are exceptionally well prepared to pass licensing exams and typically work in hospitals, rehabilitation clinics, companies specializing in assistive technology, state agencies, and research labs.
