CSD NSSHLA Group Receives Gold Chapter Honors

What is NSSLHA?

NSSLHA, National Student Speech Language Hearing Association, was founded in 1972 as the national organization for undergraduate and graduate students interested in the study of human communication and related disabilities.

What is the mission of our local chapter?

Our mission is to create a community among students through being a source of information about the field, as well as, providing opportunities to gain experience in the field. Through volunteering, fundraising, and information sharing, NSSLHA strives to be a resource for students interested in the career fields of speech-language pathology and audiology.

Who can join?

Any University of Pittsburgh student interested in speech-language pathology, audiology or the speech, language, and hearing sciences. This includes students at all levels -- first-year, sophomores, juniors, seniors, master’s, clinical doctorate, and research doctorate students.

Students can also consider joining the national NSSHLA organization as well as the state organization, PSHA (Pennsylvania Speech-Language-Hearing Association).
