Biographical Profile

Named assistant dean for undergraduate studies in 2008, Dr. Conley's responsibilitites are to provide oversight related to common policies and procedures for the six undergraduate programs in SHRS. His academic interests focus primarily on curriculum development and clinical practice in athletic training education. As program director, he is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the undergraduate athletic training program and verifying that the program is in compliance with the accreditation standards set forth by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education.  As Vice Chair of the Department of Sports Medicine and Nutrition, he sees to the day to day activities of this department which houses two undergraduate and four graduate programs in the areas of sports medicine/athletic training, clinical dietetics and nutrition and wellness and human performance.  Dr. Conley is also a co-investigator on the Injury Prevention and Performance Enhancement research projects involving the 101st Airborne Special Operations Command at Ft. Campbell, KY and the Naval Special Warfare (SEAL) special operations units at Little Creek, VA in conjunction with the US Department of Defense and the UPMC Center for Sports Medicine Neuromuscular Research Laboratory.
