Kathy Kelly is the associate dean for Academic Outreach and Advising in SHRS. She has been at the University of Pittsburgh since 1997 and most recently was appointed to the associate dean position. Prior to this, she was vice chair and program director for the DPT program for over 16 years. Kelly is currently the chair of the Educational Excellence Advisory Council–an advisory body on matters related to educational excellence across SHRS programs. She leads the Academic Outreach Steering Committee at SHRS and represents the school on several university committees.

Kelly has extensive experience and expertise in the area of pediatric physical therapy, specifically working with children who have neurodevelopmental diagnoses. In addition to her faculty role in SHRS, she is a core faculty member with the LEND Center at the University of Pittsburgh. The LEND center is funded through the Maternal and Child Health Bureau with a goal of training the next generation of leaders in neurodevelopmental and related disabilities. During her 25 years at LEND, Kelly has mentored over 200 graduate trainees from a variety of disciplines across the University.  

Kelly received her BS and PhD from the University of Pittsburgh and her MS from Hahnemann University.
