Overview

The transitional Doctor of Physical Therapy (t-DPT) program at the University of Pittsburgh is offered to practicing physical therapists who wish to earn a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree. The t-DPT curriculum was shaped by the profession’s response to a variety of factors within the healthcare system, and it was designed to target the knowledge base that constitutes current Doctor of Physical Therapy curricula.

The t-DPT plan of study consists of a core set of courses that include basic and clinical science courses (pharmacology, radiology, and differential diagnosis); critical inquiry courses (evidence-based practice series); and clinical practice courses (current evidence series).
