Is a car required to participate in the Doctor of Audiology program?

It is the student’s responsibility to provide their own transportation to clinical sites. Placements during the first year of the program are generally accessible via public transportation. Where are the clinical affiliation/externship sites located?

The primary clinical affiliation is with the UPMC. The Pitt Audiology program has strong clinical relationships with the UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, the VA Medical Center, various school districts and early intervention agencies as well as private practice offices. Can students complete a second major while in the program?

Students interested in completing a second major, or dual degree, are required to complete 150 credits to graduate. If students are interested in completing a dual degree, they will need to complete the bulk of their major requirements before or after completing the Health Informatics degree due to the schedule and workload of the program.

How long is the Doctor of Audiology program at Pitt?

The graduate program is a four-year program. The first three years are on-campus. The fourth year is a full-time clinical externship that may be in cities other than Pittsburgh depending on student goals and needs.
