Application for entry into SHRS' new Physician Assistant Studies Hybrid Program* is now open! The first cohort will begin in January 2023. Much like its on-campus offering, the two-year graduate program pairs fundamental physician assistant competencies with training in new and emerging medical technologies like ultrasound and telemedicine.

PAS-Hybrid students will have access to over 2,000 clinical placement sites across the country.

The launching of our hybrid program demonstrates the Department’s commitment to making advanced degrees accessible to more students of various backgrounds in both underserved and rural areas," says Dr. David Beck, director, Physician Assistant Studies Hybrid Program, and chair and assistant professor, Department of Physician Assistant Studies. "We hope to provide student trainees at clinical sites in places experiencing a shortage of health care workers and for these students to stay and work in these areas of need upon graduation.”

The hybrid program will be accepting 100 students into its spring 2023 cohort.

*Pitt will be applying for accreditation from ARC-PA. (See website for more details.
