Brian Bayer is the communications specialist in the Internal & External Relations area of the Dean's Office. Bayer initially joined SHRS in April 2017 as the I&ER administrative assistant. His current responsibilities include video production, updating and maintaining the school's social media accounts and website, designing print and electronic messaging, and managing SHRS' digital signage and digital asset management system. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication and Theatre Arts from John Carroll University and is currently pursuing his Master of International Development from Pitt's Graduate School of Public and International Affairs (GSPIA).
He is also in the 11th cohort of the Johnson Institute for Responsible Leadership, serves as a board member for the Sto-Rox Community Health Center, and is a fellow with the Pittsburgh chapter of the New Leaders Council. Prior to joining the University of Pittsburgh, he lived for three years in Ecuador, where he worked as a high school Language Arts teacher and a freelance journalist covering social issues and tourism.
