Deborah Hutcheson is assistant professor and Vice Chair of the Department of Sports Medicine and Nutrition, and Director of the Dietitian Nutritionist Program. She received both her BS and MS degrees at the University of Pittsburgh in Clinical Dietetics and Nutrition and her Doctorate of Clinical Nutrition (DCN) at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. She teaches nutrition and metabolism, functional nutrition, and nutrition focused physical examination (NFPE) skills at undergraduate, graduate, and professional levels. She presently is serving as a program reviewer for the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND). Her research interests include outcomes research related to: malnutrition diagnosing, utilization of NFPE, lifestyle counseling, and food based interventions.
