Dylan Baxendell joined the University of Pittsburgh Department of Athletics in September of 2018 as an athletic trainer for the men’s and women’s cross country and track and field teams. In 2019, Baxendell began covering the men’s and women’s swimming and diving team. Prior to his arrival at Pitt, Baxendell spent two years as an assistant athletic trainer for the University of Pittsburgh’s branch campus at Johnstown. In addition to providing coverage for all 13 sports on campus, he also instructed a men’s weight training course as well as a directed study course focused on individual health and wellness. A 2015 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training, Baxendell worked as a student athletic trainer for West Mifflin Area High School, as well as Pitt wrestling, football, softball and tennis. After graduating from the University of Pittsburgh, Baxendell obtained his Master of Science degree in athletic training at California University of Pennsylvania. Baxendell spent his time at Cal U as a graduate assistant athletic trainer with the men’s and women’s track and field team. His certifications include a Performance Enhancement Specialist certification through National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), Human Movement Specialist certification from the Brookbush Institute, and CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers through the American Red Cross. A native of Pittsburgh, Baxendell currently resides in Pleasant Hills.
