Emily Mulkey joined the University of Pittsburgh Department of Athletics in August of 2019 as an athletic training graduate assistant for the cheer and dance teams.
 
Originally from South Carolina, Mulkey completed her undergraduate degree in athletic training from The Ohio State University. While with the Buckeyes, she worked with the cheer and dance, track and field, football, wrestling, marching band (TBDBITL) and club sports. In addition, she completed a full season internship with the MLS’s Columbus Crew SC and spent time abroad in Madrid, Spain studying international sports medicine at La Universidad de Camilo Jose Cela.
 
Mulkey has received the National Basketball Athletic Trainers Association Scholarship, the Ernie Biggs Memorial Award, the Linda Webber Daniel Memorial Award, and the Mary A. Daniels Memorial Award.
 
Mulkey is an active member in the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA) in District 2. She was the District 4 Representative to the NATA’s Student Leadership Committee and currently serves the NATA’s Council on Practice Advancement (COPA) in social media coordination and meeting planning capacities.
