Jen Verbiar joined the University of Pittsburgh Department of Athletics in August of 2020, serving as the athletic trainer with the women’s softball program. 

Prior to her arrival at the University of Pittsburgh, Verbiar spent three years as an athletic trainer at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, working with the softball and football programs. Before Chattanooga, Verbiar worked for two years as an athletic trainer at the University of Massachusetts Lowell, working with the softball and soccer teams. She was a graduate assistant athletic trainer at Mansfield University working with the football, basketball and softball teams. A Pitt alum, Verbiar graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in April 2014 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training. She then earned her Master of Science in Athletic Training from East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania in August 2015.
 
Verbiar is a certified member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association, is licensed through the Pennsylvania State Board of Medicine and is an approved clinical preceptor for the undergraduate athletic training program. She has completed trainings for specializations including:  CPR/AED Healthcare Provider through the American Heart Association, KAATSU Blood Flow Restriction Specialist, ASIST Suicide First Aid Caregiver and QPR Layperson, and SafeZone Project LGBTQ+ Campus Ally. She is also a member of the College Athletic Trainers Society and Women Leader’s in College Sports.

A West Chester, PA native, Verbiar resides on the North Shore.
