Jess Oest is an instructional designer with the Office of Online Learning. She will support course design and development for online and hybrid courses. Her research interests include instructor presence, innovative assessment techniques and constructivist learning theory. Previously, she worked as a consultant for Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) and as an instructional designer and coach for NeverTechLate, a program that teaches older adults how to use tablets and video conferencing technology to help reduce feelings of social isolation. Oest holds a Master of Arts in Education, Training and Instructional Technology from IUP where she is currently studying Curriculum and Instruction as a doctoral student.
