Meghan E. Wander is the Education and Training Manager for the Department of Rehabilitation Science and Technology. In this role, she is responsible for both the planning and execution of the International Seating Symposium (ISS), and administrative support for the Master of Science in Prosthetics and Orthotics (MSPO) program. The ISS is a bi-annual continuing education event focusing on wheelchair seating and mobility. In its most recent past, this event drew 2,200 attendees to Pittsburgh for a 3-day educational conference. In her role for the MSPO program, Meghan is responsible for recruiting and retention of candidates, academic advising, and post-graduation tracking. Meghan thoroughly enjoys this aspect of her job as it allows her to work with students, her true passion.
Prior to working at the University of Pittsburgh, Meghan was employed by the Department of Labor’s Job Corps program. She worked as a GED and High School Diploma Instructor for nearly eight years before transitioning to higher education. Meghan earned a Bachelor of Secondary Education Degree from Millersville University in 2008 and went on to pursue a Master of Public Administration, with a concentration in Adult Education, degree from Troy University in 2012.
Outside of work, Meghan enjoys spending time with her family and cheering for any and all Pittsburgh-based sports teams.
