Michael Lebec PT, PhD has been a licensed physical therapist since 1997 and has over 20 years of experience teaching in higher education. From 2003 – 2020, he taught as a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) faculty member at Northern Arizona University and transitioned to the University of Pittsburgh in 2021. Lebec has had a passion for teaching for as long as he can remember. Though his primary area of clinical instruction is musculoskeletal practice, he has been involved in instructional efforts across multiple facets of the entry-level physical therapy curriculum. He has disseminated multiple peer-reviewed publications and presentations focused on learning effectiveness and believes that to achieve any level of success, instructors must first engage the learner in the process. His scholarly record includes numerous peer-reviewed products focused on the scholarship of teaching and learning but also multiple published articles related to physical therapist practice in the Emergency Department setting.
