Allen L. Redinger is a postdoctoral associate under the mentorship of Bradley C. Nindl in the Neuromuscular Research Laboratory/Warrior Human Performance Research Center within the Department of Sports Medicine and Nutrition. Redinger is currently investigating how tendons, muscles and bones structurally and mechanically adapt to arduous physical training and injury in military personnel, with the ultimate goal of improving warfighter resilience and decreasing military musculoskeletal injury risk. During his academic career, Redinger has worked with various populations, ranging from ROTC cadets, collegiate, professional and Olympic athletes, police and firefighters and clinical populations. He looks forward to continuing to research to improve physical performance traits and mitigate injury rates within military and athletic communities.
Originally from Chicago, Dr. Redinger was a collegiate baseball pitcher at Otterbein University, where he received his Bachelor’s degree in exercise science and health promotion. He then obtained his Master’s in physiology of exercise from Ohio University and his Doctorate in health and human performance from Oklahoma State University.
