Gifts aid students who dream of making a difference. It fuels the research of dedicated faculty and supports our innovative curriculum and state-of-the-art laboratories.
Most importantly, it impacts clinical practice and improved patient care.
Since its establishment in 1969, SHRS has been recognized as a national and international leader in the field of rehabilitation and disabilities studies. That tradition continues today as faculty, alumni and students blaze new trails in health care education, delivery and service.
Your gift will allow our programs, faculty and students to continue to lead the way through innovative curriculum, research and clinical practice.

Every February, the University of Pittsburgh holds its annual Day of Giving. This special day rallies members of the community—University alumni, friends, faculty, staff and students—to give to the schools, departments, projects or initiatives that are most meaningful to them.
Together, we have the power to transform the lives of our students through scholarship donations, to impact patient care through research funding and to advance the mission and values of our school through general support.
To foster friendly competition within SHRS during Pitt Day of Giving, the Interim Dean will be awarding two “Davy Awards,” which is a monetary award that will provide an extra money to departments and the school.
Two SHRS departments will be awarded $1,000 support work that they do and the resources they provide. One award goes to the department that has the highest increase of donors compared to the previous year, and the second award is for the department that achieves the highest number of unique donors!
These additional awards help further the activities or support the work they are doing, extend their work into new spaces, or provide more students with additional opportunities in these departments.
