About the Program

Pitt DPT students engage in interactive training, labs and coursework that equip graduates to become leading experts in providing efficient and effective patient-centered care. In just seven terms, students can complete their degree in either the on-campus or hybrid option. We invite you to explore these aspects of the program.
On-Campus or Hybrid Option

The Pitt DPT program wants to provide education opportunities to aspiring physical therapists, no matter where they are or what their preferred learning style is.

Seven-Term Curriculum

Both on-campus and hybrid options learn from the same DPT curriculum. The program ensures all graduates are well prepared to enter the workforce, so the didactic education program is complemented by a clinical program that includes 42 weeks of full-time clinical education experience.

Hands-On Learning

On-campus students learn through lectures, asynchronous sessions, flipped classrooms and online instruction which build up the skills necessary to participate in a variety of on-campus labs.

Hybrid option students learn through remote instruction which is a mix of asynchronous and synchronous sessions, video submissions and faculty feedback on how they apply their skills as they practice at home. Hybrid students will also participate in a total of 10, week-long immersions.
