Ashley Krieger is the assistant coordinator of Clinical Placements with the Department of Communication Science and Disorders. Ashley earned a Bachelor’s Degree and a Master of Science in speech-language pathology from Duquesne University in 2006 and 2007, respectively. Clinically, she completed her Clinical Fellowship in a private practice in the Pittsburgh area. After the completion of her CFY, Ashley joined the Department of Speech Language Pathology at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. She has a variety of experiences in evaluation and treatment in the inpatient and outpatient pediatric settings. Ashley's primary area of expertise is pediatric dysphagia, specifically in patients with complex medical needs. Ashley continues to practice clinically as a Senior Speech Language Pathologist with UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. In her role with the University, Ashley is part of the clinical education team working to support clinical placements for the speech pathology graduate students. She also provides clinical supervision and training to students enrolled in Screening and Prevention Practicum through the PHASE-UP (Preschool Hearing and Speech Education- University of Pittsburgh) program. This program provides screenings to children enrolled in preschools throughout the Pittsburgh community. She is a member of the American Speech Language and Hearing Association and maintains licensure for clinical practice in the state of Pennsylvania.
