Christie Hempfling currently serves as the Community Health Team Manager for the CONNECT Community Paramedic Program (formerly known as EMED Health) at UPMC Health Plan. She is also an adjunct faculty member of the University of Pittsburgh for the Mobile Integrated Health class. EMED Health/CONNECT is one of the longest-running Community Paramedic programs in the country. Mrs. Hempfling is a certified EMT, has a Bachelor’s degree in Rehabilitation Science with a concentration in Athletic Training, and a Master’s degree in Human Services Counseling and Executive Leadership. She has been working with EMED Health since 2007 and the CONNECT Program since 2012. In 2013, she received an award from the Emergency Medical Services Institute of Pennsylvania in recognition of her pioneering work in the field of Community Paramedicine.
