Biography
Christopher Bise has taught in some capacity at Pitt since 2006, usually in the musculoskeletal curriculum. His research, anchored by his Jack Walker Award winning study on what happens when patients see a physical therapist first, sits at the intersection of musculoskeletal care, value-based payment and physical therapy scope of practice. He pioneered the Perspectives for Payers series in JOSPT to get clinical evidence in front of the people who actually write the checks and tries to convince students, practicing clinicians and C-Suite executives that good evidence and good policy are the same project.
