Emily Murphy is the Vice Chair for Professional Development and Continuing Education and an assistant professor in the Department of Physician Assistant Studies. She joined SHRS in 2009 at the program's inception. Murphy graduated from Saint Francis University in 2005 with her Master of Physician Assistant Science degree and from the University of Pittsburgh in 2021 with her Doctor of Education degree. She currently teaches the Introduction to the PA Profession course during the didactic year and assists the director of Clinical Education with the clinical year curriculum. Her clinical background is in Neurosurgery, Interventional Radiology, and Pulmonology. Murphy currently holds a clinical appointment in Addiction Medicine with a private practice.
