Jacob Fine earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Pittsburgh in 2019. Fine went on to complete his Sports Physical Therapy Residency in July 2020 at Massachusetts General Hospital and Northeastern University, where he gained significant experience providing rehabilitation services to division-I collegiate athletes. Fine became a Board-Certified Sports Clinical Specialist in June 2021.

Upon completing his residency, he moved back to Pittsburgh and worked as an outpatient physical therapist at the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex and served as an adjunct faculty member of the University of Pittsburgh Physical Therapy Department. He also serves as a faculty member for the UPMC Sports and Orthopedic Physical Therapy Residencies, where he teaches the shoulder course for their didactic curriculum and serves as a clinical mentor. FIne was selected as the inaugural University of Pittsburgh Division-I Sports Physical Therapy Fellow, where he now splits time between teaching in the musculoskeletal curriculum of the DPT program and working in the training room with the Pitt sports medicine team to provide rehabilitation services for University of Pittsburgh Athletics.
