John Pierce serves as instructor for the Emergency Medicine program and as Associate Director for the Office of Education at the Center for Emergency Medicine of Western Pennsylvania. Pierce received his MBA in 2011 from the University of Phoenix having five years applied experience as an EMS manager and administrator in industry. He's been providing pre-hospital patient care continuously for 23 years, 19 of which at the Advanced Life Support level. He has served in various capacities ainstructor and educator delivering AHA, ASHI, VFIS, University of Miami Miller School of Medicine ASLS and DOT EMS curricula. Pierce is active as an advocate of EMS at the local, state and federal levels with a focus on leadership and management education and development and contributed to the National EMS Managers Association's National EMS Officer Competencies document.
