M. Kathleen Kelly is associate professor and vice chair in the Department of Physical Therapy. She is the director of the DPT program and serves in an advisory role to the department's clinical faculty committee. Kelly is responsible for teaching the pediatric content in the DPT curriculum and lectures in other graduate courses on topics related to pediatric physical therapy. She has over 33 years of experience as a pediatric physical therapist and continues to maintain clinical practice at the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh at UPMC. Her interests include the neurodevelopmental trajectory of infants and children with early brain injury. She has been a core faculty member on a Maternal & Child Health training grant for the past 19 years.
Kelly has an extensive record of service at the Department, School and University level. She serves on two committees of the University Senate and has been appointed to three committees in the Office of the Provost. Kelly is a 33-year member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and has served in leadership roles at the district, state and national levels.
