Tracy Maluchnik is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) and a Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist in the state of Pennsylvania. She teaches Introduction to Human Nutrition, Food and Culture, Food Application, and Food Application Lab within the Department of Sports Medicine and Nutrition. Maluchnik also teaches the Practicum in Dietetics and serves as a clinical instructor for the Dietitian Nutritionist Program. 

Maluchnik’s specific areas of interest include sports nutrition, public policy, community nutrition and increasing diversity / inclusion in the field of dietetics. She has worked in long term, outpatient and acute care as an RDN. Also, she has worked on research grants as an Integrative Health Coach/ Nutrition Researcher and taught at various universities. One of Maluchnik's favorite positions was working with the United States Marine Corp as their Semper Fit Dietitian where she educated and counseled Active-Duty Marines on the benefits of proper nutrition through unit lectures, meal planning, cooking classes and grocery store tours. She managed the Body Composition program and performed bone density, resting metabolic rate, body composition and blood pressure screenings for all Active-Duty Marines. Before coming to University of Pittsburgh, she worked on research and development for product design at GNC headquarters.
