Biography
Aaron Roman joins the Pitt faculty continuing a career that merges in both clinical care and academia. Roman knew from a time he was in graduate school at Pitt that he had a passion for teaching and was fortunate enough to start his career as a faculty member at West Chester University of Pennsylvania, where he served as an Assistant Professor and the Director of Clinical Education. He then moved to Drexel University where he supervised student clinicians and taught courses related to psychoacoustics and aging. Throughout his career, he focused on teaching students through integrating evidence-based practice, theoretical knowledge and real-world clinical experience. His teaching philosophy emphasizes curiosity, critical thinking and empathy, aiming to empower students to become both skilled clinicians and thoughtful advocates. Beyond the classroom, his research explores hearing loss, cognition and health care policy—topics that continue to fuel his dedication to education and community engagement.
