Biography
Katrina King-Thomas is a licensed professional counselor in Pennsylvania. She is the owner of King-Thomas Counseling, where she works with individuals, couples and families, and is also a doctoral candidate continuing her growth in counselor education and the mental health field. King-Thomas was drawn to counseling by a genuine curiosity about people and the diverse experiences, identities, relationships and environments that shape their lives. Her approach to both counseling and teaching is grounded in collaboration, cultural humility and the belief that meaningful growth occurs when people feel heard, respected and valued.
In the classroom, King-Thomas strives to create a welcoming and engaging environment where students are active participants in their learning. She enjoys bringing real-world clinical experience into discussions while encouraging students to consider how culture, identity, values and lived experiences influence both counselors and clients. She is passionate about helping future counselors connect theory with practice, think critically, develop multicultural awareness and grow into confident, authentic clinicians while discovering their own unique approaches to the counseling profession.
