SHRS Panelists

What better way to usher in Pitt's Year of Creativity than with a schoolwide trip to the museum? But this wasn't just an ordinary visit. On Thursday, September 5, 2019, 200 SHRS faculty, staff, and students attended a panel discussion as an introduction to the "Access + Ability" exhibit at the Carnegie Museum of Art.

The "Access + Ability" display showcases the sophisticated and simple designs associated with life-changing devices and assistive technologies of the past, present, and future. The panel featured SHRS faculty and students who visited the exhibit prior to the event so they could share their thoughts and expertise with attendees, and enhance the experience for Thursday night's museum-goers.

Panelists included Andrea Hergenroeder, assistant professor, Physical Therapy; Catherine Palmer, associate professor and director, Audiology; Jonathan Pearlman, associate professor and chair, Rehabilitation Science and Technology; and Occupational Therapy students Claire McCarthy and Monica Morrison. The discussion was moderated by Vice Dean Debbie Miller and followed by a free visit to the museum and a picnic on the patio of Posvar Hall.
