Julia Lam Headshot I am so grateful to receive the Joan C. Rogers Occupational Therapy Award. The Pitt Occupational Therapy Department has been an enriching environment in all areas of academics, research and advocacy. I appreciate the balance of freedom to pursue my interests while still having encouragement, resources and community to turn to for guidance. I am excited for my passions of health equity and mental health to come to fruition during my doctoral capstone this spring. I will be focusing on community re-integration for people experiencing psychiatric hospitalization, as well as with people experiencing homelessness in street medicine and shelter contexts. This award allows me to dedicate more time to developing occupational therapy roles in emerging practice areas that I intend to pursue, equipped with advanced skills in leadership, clinical practice and advocacy that I learned from Pitt OT!

Kayla Lesofsky Headshot I cannot express how grateful I am to be chosen for the Caroline Robinson Bradley Student Enrichment Award. I feel honored, grounded and humbled to be chosen to receive this award. This achievement will enable me to dedicate my full attention to my academic studies and allow me to participate in more opportunities Pitt OT has to offer. I am highly appreciative of the Pitt OT community and of course my peers for supporting me to become the best version of myself during this educational journey. I also cannot go without acknowledging my mother, grandmother and boyfriend for all the love, support and strength they instill in me to pursue my dream of becoming an occupational therapist regardless of the barriers I face. I am very optimistic about my Pitt OT experience alongside the best faculty there is to learn from and am eager to see where this journey leads.

Erin Lewis Headshot I am so honored to have been selected as the recipient of the Award of Professional Excellence! I am thankful for the endless opportunities Pitt OT has afforded me. I am grateful for professors who have encouraged me to take leaps, utilize my skills in leadership roles and explore endless ways in which I can promote occupational therapy in my everyday endeavors. Most importantly, I am appreciative to the Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) students who surround me and support me every day. I have learned so much from their passion, motivation, and creativity. This award will support me in my final term as an OTD student as I further develop my skills in leadership, child development and spinal cord injury. I am endlessly thankful to Pitt OT for their continuous support and the never-ending opportunities they provide. I am excited to use my skills from my time with Pitt OT as I embark into the field of occupational therapy!
