Here are the top two reasons to choose Communication Science as your major:

Academic Advising

Academic advising not only enhances student learning and development, but it also serves as a foundation for the student’s entire educational experience in Communication Science (CS). Undergraduate students in CS meet with an academic advisor from the Department at least once per semester to review progress and receive important information and advice related to current studies and post-graduation plans. Through in-person appointments, emails, and phone calls, advisors provide meaningful insights into academic experiences and needs so students can develop sound academic and career goals.

Specialized advising is available to students at the first-year and/or sophomore year level. Interested students should contact our Director of Undergraduate Education Ali Lewandowski at AEL89@pitt.edu.

Faculty

A vital part of the educational process in the Department of Communication Science and Disorders is our faculty. We have have an internationally and nationally recognized faculty with a depth and breadth of research and clinical experience across communication science and disorders. Faculty are highly engaged and dedicated in supporting undergraduate students excel in scholarly pursuits.
