Our program meshes traditional didactic lectures with out-of-the-classroom learning opportunities, case-based individual and group activities and hands-on skills labs. It provides exceptional clinical placements, with two elective rotations during your clinical year. Thanks to a unique relationship with UPMC, one of the most renowned academic medical centers in the U.S., you gain experience in a variety of medical, surgical and clinical settings.
Your two years of training prepares you to sit for the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) exam. As a credentialed physician assistant, you will practice medicine with physician supervision, collaborate with other members of the health care team and serve as a strong advocate for patient health and well-being.
Bold Moves SHRS: Leadership is the cornerstone of Pitt Physician Assistant Studies, and the new Advanced Practice Provider Leadership Certificate capitalizes on that expertise, providing health care professionals the opportunity to expand their knowledge to help current practitioners grow as leaders in the evolving interprofessional landscape.
