The core mission and vision of the Department of Community Health Services and Rehabilitation Science is to support and enhance the undergraduate education, service and research offerings of its academic programs.
Specifically, the mission of the department is to create opportunities to further education, for entry level employment and to increase access to health care and improve the health of our communities and the nation by:
• Developing a pool of diverse and inclusive graduates who intend to further their education as physician assistants, physical therapists, occupational therapists and researchers;
• Developing and graduating a workforce of diverse and inclusive certified providers with the knowledge, skills and behaviors to practice health care in inter-professional teams;
• Promoting a lifelong desire for continued learning, scholarly activity, service to the community and advocacy;
• Contributing and coordinating research within the health professions and the science, delivery and administration of health care and healthcare education; and serving the communities of our school, city and the world.
