Anand Mhatre is an assistant professor in the Department of Rehabilitation Science & Technology. He completed his Postdoctorate and PhD in Rehabilitation Science at the University of Pittsburgh and received his MS degree in Manufacturing Systems Engineering from North Carolina State University and BE degree in Mechanical Engineering from University of Mumbai, India. His research focuses on data-driven development, usability testing and technology transfer of assistive devices.

  • WheelTrak design and community testing in Pittsburgh and El Salvador – Funded by NIA, PVA and Pitt-CTSI
  • Pediatric Wheelchair Design and Technology Transfer in India – Funded by USISTEF
  • ISO 7176-32 Caster Standard Development – Funded by NIDILRR
