Ellen Muchnok is an instructor in the Department of Community Health Services and Rehabilitation Sciences. She grew up in southeastern Pennsylvania, but came to Pittsburgh in 2012 to obtain her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from the University of Pittsburgh. She then continued her education within the School of Health and Rehabilitation Science by pursuing her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree. After graduating in 2018, Ellen worked in the acute care and inpatient rehabilitation setting at UPMC Mercy Hospital, where she ultimately specialized in acute spinal cord injury rehab. In 2021, Ellen transitioned to the UPMC Center for Assistive Technology where she works in outpatient seating and wheeled mobility. Outside of work, Ellen is involved with the Pittsburgh chapter of the United Spinal Association.
