Melissa Newcity

Melissa (Mel) Newcity is the administrator for the Office of Student Affairs at SHRS. She provides administrative support for the Center for Academic Advising and Student Sucess, and the student services and admissions teams. Newcity previously worked at the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh and as an Administrative Assistant in the Student Success Center at the Watson College of Education at UNC-Wilmington. Her passion for mental health drives her enthusiasm to empower the emerging generation of health care professionals, alongside the invaluable mentors and support staff who guide them. She looks forward to witnessing the progressive changes within the health care industry as it strives to effectively meet the diverse needs of the communities it serves. In addition to being an administrative professional, Newcity is also a writer and artist and has published a variety of poems, and two comics in the "Tales of the Cape Fear."
